Hello everyone! I'm certain some of you got your art stolen shamlessly by other Tales Brigade members, and most of you probably noticed it. Given that, listen well: It's time for people to stop claiming something they didn't make!
For now, here are a few tips to scorn art-stealers:
1. Block the users (Right next to send friend request, there's "block user"), regardless on whether you had your art stolen or not from this said person. These are thieves are not "Tales of" fans, and shouldn't be represented as such!
2. Report them. If you saw it and confirmed that this certain icon, wallpaper, video, fanart is stolen, there should be a function near where the ratings star are located that says "Report user". We encourage you all to report these misdeamenors immediately to help those who had truly worked hard in their art!
If this doesn't work (mainly because of an error whenever you report abuse), see #4.
3. Inform others, via blog post, a forum topic related to such, so long as other "Tales of" fans know who are guilty of offending the true artists. This blog post is already one way, so whether you had art stolen from you or not, it would truly be gallant of you to do the same.
4. Tell Undine immediately! She will probably help you the most in this! Emailing her is probably the best option right now, seeing as the "Report abuse" function does not work at this time.
I see too many art being stolen, especially given the fact that most of these icons, signatures, wallpapers, etc. are something I saw before... from the original creator. I've seen tons of Abyssal Chronicles graphics being sent in by people who didn't make them, and I've confirmed a good number of these being stolen (namely some people having stealing a745's stuff, bunnywisk's stuff, cutepresea's stuff, artists from other sites, like those from Japanese artist sites or deviant art, and many more).
And like ladynadiad said, crediting for someone else's work is not enough. They should definitely ask permission from the original creator! If they said "no", then you definitely can't use that work!
It's time we do everything to stop this and make Tales Brigade a way better place for you all "Tales of" artists deserving of credit! Rally up, true "tales of" fans!

Of note, you should advise that people email Undine, not just PM her. People have stated she doesn't get PMs, but she answers emails pretty fast. I reported something and it was taken down within 24 hours. Also, the report user link doesn't work at this time. A lot is also being stolen from the Tales Series forums, which is a dumb move too, because there are a ton of regulars from there on this site.
And credit isn't necessarily enough sometimes. Having permission for something to be used is the key here. The people who posted things to Abyssal Chronicles gave permission for their sigs and such to be used, but with credit given and for forums and the like, not to be submitted as someone else's work here. If in question, ask the artist before using, because they will find out somehow if permission wasn't granted.
And yeah, even I wasn't immune to it being mostly a sig artist. Two of my icons are being used by an art thief with no credit, though no gald was earned for them. One of my wallpapers was used as a base for an invite, though credit was given, I wasn't pleased that I wasn't asked (if I was, I would have made them a totally new invite honestly).
Thankfully, I don't post most of my colorings to dA. There are maybe 2 that are Tales related there, one is already submitted here, the other is the subject of a tutorial I wrote and likely will be recognized right off.
But yes, anyone against this should definitely go through the fanart section, especially in the next few days since the quest is closing. If you recognize anything and remember who may have made it, contact them for verification, or find the original posting of it. Once that verification is had, comment with the original posting or let the artist do so.
I'm glad there's so many people willing to stand up to this! And thank you so much for trying to help! First time it happened, I was so angry because they stole a picture that I made as a gift for someone, and it was taken down pretty quickly after it was caught. This time, one of them made Best of the Best. It's pretty frustrating to think I'm considered a good artist under someone else's name, if you know what I mean.
You're right, ladynadiad. I should've rephrased a bit so as to stop art theft and not merely crediting the original user, since that was actually what was in my mind (although could not potray into words until you've commented). In any case, yes emailing Undine is definitely the fastest way indeed, which I had done so a couple of hours ago (they are very long emails...).
And seeing as it seems the fanart quest is about to end, it's time to do what must be done, everyone!
But even so, we still have quests open for potential theft, there are many just waiting for it on the cosplay one (one has already been revealed as a theft in fact, and I highly suspect the other two are also considering the users)
And you know, you can edit your blog post to include that credit isn't enough, permission is needed, and emailing Undine is the best, especially since the report link doesn't work.
Edited, and ladynadiad, you have a point. All these other quests need to be looked into, and that is precisely what we all will do... or even should do!
Here's another one I reported:
http://www.talesbrigade.com/gallery_item/?gallery_id=131&id=108634&rate_ok=1
Lloyd17, who had also advertised his boxart in I believe EVERY boxart submission, stole a couple of fanart, and one of them I had been able to confirm myself. Here is his submission:
http://www.talesbrigade.com/gallery_item/?gallery_id=131&id=108634&rate_ok=1
And this is the original from deviantart:
http://thegreatcynthiajolin.deviantart.com/art/Yuri-in-Teh-Shower-96259311
The best part is, Lloyd17 admits to the act:
"yerah I know I was just lazy so if your going to fight me about this then I'm not going to bother chattering with you"
Fight? You're not up against me, you're up against all the people who are sick of having they're art stolen from them, as well as everyone true "Tales of" fan out there, mate
I've sent her one looooong e-mail if all the ones I found... And yes, she does reply fast to e-mails.
okay
okay I'm getting sick of this Okay fine If you want wat is done Then I'm never going to go to this site ever again because this is just way to embarrassing for me so today is my last day being in Tales Brigade because it's not right for me to be here were eneryone hates you and yes I admit aslong as you keep going with this then I not going back so bye
Okay Tatsuya... aka Lloyd17 (as you have said here, as well as the obvious '0' rating you've made: http://www.talesbrigade.com/gallery_item/?gallery_id=132&id=109733 ). That will be another report from all of us, seeing as I've confirmed you've stolen that one fanart here: http://vanilladice.deviantart.com/art/Vesperia-Figure-Yuri-10K-maybe-96261833
Other than the fact that you have said so yourself, it's already obvious you and Tatsuya are but one, seeing as the address is the same lol
Can we please stop fighting abou this
Lloyd17/Tatsuya, you should've gotten your submitting privilidges taken away after this fiasco (which thank goodness was taken out of your gallery and this link is the only way to it). If you thought getting called out on stuff would be embarrassing, you shouldn't have done it to begin with!
Yay thank you for getting me noticed on my stolen art! Thank you so much!

Congrats, everyone, on getting lloyd17, Tatsuya, and Takato banned!
Everyone's efforts in keeping Tales Brigade theft-free had certainly paid off, and had gathered a lot of much-needed attention! We thank everyone who had helped us stop thieves from benefitting from other's works!
There will be some people who will still try to do some thieving, but we'll be there to stop them!
Yep, good job everyone, two down, two more to go for sure (and a possible third).
Don't know if you saw cutepresea's blog, but we revealed another theft by TalesPrincess and some are searching for the remaining pieces. There are some also on the lookout for where Marta Lualdi got his from, we are thinking a site not in English right now, which is making it harder to track down.
If anyone is better with sources for cosplay pictures, might want to see about finding TalesPrincess' and Sealightbreeze's, they are most likely also stolen, though that will be hard, since they are group shots, we will have to track down who each person is in the pics and ensure none of them are either of these users.
And thank goodness the fanart quest is over! Just have to check the submissions that come in well today.
Marta Lualdi is actually Sunny from the Majinken forums, and I'm very disappointed over the fact that nearly all of his stuff may be stolen, because I explicitly remember some of those art from another artist (not in DA, but in a japanese website) and I remember most of Sunny's own creations are usually game sprite-related, with no evidence that he posted up those fanart before in any forum.
that Marta person also posted a cosplay pic that seems to have been deleted. I've had a feeling he stole all the art he posted...but since there's no way to prove it, and he got all defensive in his blog then there's not much that can be done at the moment
Alright thanks to the heads up by Arubireo, many had now confirmed that this fanart:
http://www.talesbrigade.com/gallery_item/?gallery_id=121&id=110170
...was taken from: http://bp1.blogger.com/_0-B7ocOVPng/RaQvNi2t_nI/AAAAAAAAADI/yo0fz2YWZkE/s1600-h/Cloudette.jpg
The person even tried to Photoshop it with watercolor effects, quite likely in an effort to hide and obscure the original artist's name from the art! Now that I have time to do so, I had already reported this to Undine via email.
Actually, a few photoshop filters, I'd guess watercolor, lowered opacity and spayed strokes personally. Stuff that would take maybe a few minutes when clone stamping would do a better job removing the name.
Tsk tsk, better to just not steal in the first place.
